Whomever K3 user told you to EVER use the output control other than MAX at ALL TIMES needs to go back to learning.  They are NOT helping you. (NK7I)

I'd go back to what Elecraft says in their manual.  (K9YC)

Again, READ THE K3 OWNERS MANUAL and do what the manufacturer says. (W4TV)


What "others" told is frankly just OLD HAM LORE.  The more it is told the more incorrect it becomes.

There is a correct or right way, and there are many incorrect or wrong ways.   I don't find any in between.
