Yes Mike, I intended to mention,
I did see that PA transistor mod. Something about harmonics. 
I looked at the sheet and that mod was done on this one but thanks for mentioning it!!

The only hardware mod that there has been in seven years is a PA transistor mounting mod that you can find described on Elecraft.com.  That was incorporated into KX2 production before your KX2.

Elecraft has not been energetic about adding instruction about certain things like decoding ATU.DATA, even though that would be a very simple addition to the manual.
