Good Evening,

    Two sunny days during winter, I took advantage of both of them.  I 
went for a walk.  Today I was wondering about the lack of wildlife when 
I kicked up two Black-tailed does.  They showed me a new path through 
the forest, so I followed it.  They had been sleeping so I am pretty 
sure they only moved a hundred yards away to find a place to lie in the 
sun.  With the tall ferns down I could see farther.  Many of the mosses 
are blooming a bright green.  Some of the lichens are brighter too.

    The sun is wide awake.  A black out occurred over South America 
recently.  The sunspot which caused it is well positioned for a few more 
shots at earth.  I imagine there will be deeper QSB tomorrow.  Sunspot 
3217 will be visible for the next week.  During that time expect a few 
more X class flares.  A CME could be in our future.  However, once the 
furor has subsided the ionosphere supports ten and six meters nicely.
