Hi Jack -   All is not lost.  Check out the new Korg SK40 model here if 
you cannot find a new CM500 at your favorite store - instead of SB40 it 
is the SK40 . . . business as usual!

I put no-one down. I clearly acknowledged my take is my own and is not 
widely shared.  Some hams can accept other hams' opinions - as long as 
they agree.   There is far too much parochialism in ham radio.  JR
