For use in very hot and humid climates, you might consider ear buds.  I used my Etymotic buds for 4 weeks of operating on T32C without much of an issue.  A little Vaseline helps with the seal and reduces what irritation there is.  

A secondary advantage was that when I had a VERY loud ssb op in the same room, I could have worn ear defenders on top to blot out all the ambient sound, including the very noisy air con.  I didn't think of taking them with me at the time.  

For ssb of course you will need a separate head mic and these are cheap and plentiful.
