[Elecraft] Fluorescent RFI solved

The "Edison" LED bulbs (also called "filament LED" bulbs) are thin
strips of glass with lots of short wavelength LEDs mounted on the strip,
with a coating of phosphor over all of it.  The high energy light from
the LEDs activates the phosphor, which then radiates the color
determined by the phosphor.  I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't be
surprised if all the LED chips are wired in series, which might make it
possible to run off 120 VAC without any power supply at all in the
base.  I think blue LEDs have enough slope in their I-V curve to handle
any normal variation in the AC voltage. That would make them very quiet
RFI-wise.
