Thanks to all who chimed in about this. I will be trying everyone’s advice.

I still think it’s sad that all I have to do to significantly block noise in SSB on my old IC-706MkIIG and my IC-7300 is touch one button: most of the noise is gone and the level of the audio itself hasn’t dropped so you could notice.

I’d told this shortcoming as been addressed and corrected in the K4.
