Good Evening,
The sun is acting up. We are due for some effects from a CME
sometime tomorrow afternoon. Hmm... the timing seems suspicious. A few
large sunspot groups are moving around the limb of the sun. A few more
are moving in from the other side. The sunspot number is a bit lower
with flux at 127. I listened to a contest on twenty meters earlier
today, conditions were so so with a lot of hiss.
Winter and spring are in competition. A few days of sun, followed
by snow and rain, then a day of sun, followed by more snow. I am glad I
am not the forecaster :) Buds on my lilacs are getting green. Our
burrowing rodents love to eat them so mine are in pots. They are from
my grandfather's homestead in North Dakota. They are healthy and need
to be transplanted into multiple new pots. I will try a cleaver to
separate them.
Please join us on (or near):
14050 kHz at 2300z Sunday (3 PM PST Sunday)
7047 kHz at 0030z Monday (4:30 PM PST Sunday)
73,
Kevin. KD5ONS

I made some animated videos of how a sine wave fills a doublet during
the first microsecond. That is long enough for a few full cycles at 7
MHz. You will see how resonant and non-resonant antennas react.

It is a recycled web page so pay no attention to the name. Or view the
source of the web page if you want to listen to bird songs, or me giving
a demo lecture. The hidden structure is left as a palimpsest.
