[Elecraft] KX3 Internal Batteries

I stopped keeping batteries (NiMH) in the internal tray when the rig got
stuck in an error state while trying to update the firmware. The fix for
the issue was to remove all power to the radio for a short time, maybe half
a minute, then restore power and update the firmware again. Trouble is, if
you have batteries in the internal tray, it can't drop all power unless you
open the radio and remove the batteries. After I did that, I simply did not
return the batteries to the radio. They are now happily in use powering a
Roland MIDI Wind Controller. If I need to power the KX3 in the field, or
during a power outage, I will use an external battery pack.
If it disables the RTC, I hadn't noticed the lack. So at least for me it
wasn't an issue.
