Most be glad you are not shipping in/out of AK.

UPS/FedEx rates are double (or more) than USPS. If it will fit a USPS
Flat-rate box that is even less. That is for 3-day delivery which can
take up to five days. UPS/Fedex 2-day is also 3-days (because delivery
is to the Anchorage Int'l Airport Office and then trucked to my address
150-miles away the next day. UPS/FedEx delivery is M-F (no weekends)
and is the "drop and scoot" delivery (too lazy to push the door bell).
I always make a point to be home and watch for their truck. USPS is
kept at the PO for my pickup (they have door locks and security); M-St
access.

Most of the time if a vendor says "UPS only" or "FedEx only", I find
another vendor to spend my dollars with. Also like free delivery
(except not to AK or HI). And they ship by USPS (duh). Or "spend more
than $xxx and shipping is free (except to AK or HI).

Now I can see this if its multi-hundred pound item on a pallet, but for
a package with a few semiconductors (greedy B*sturds).

USPS insures but it may take up to six months to receive it. Better
keep a copy of your shipping label. Click-n-ship keeps a record for you
up to a year when you have an account (which is free).

Now back to Elecraft stuff!
