The high density 15 pin connectors used on the Aux cable is readily available and inexpensive. Why not make an adapter that allows the PTT line (pin 10)  to be switched between K3 and Icom?

AUX pin 10 (Ken in) and RCA Key jack are diode OR'd to drive the same KA500 internal Keying signal.
