I'm running WSJT-X v2.5.0.  Earlier versions did have a delay on 
transmit issue.   For WSJT-X RADIO settings, I use MODE as Data/Pkt and 
for SPLIT I use Fake It.   The radio operates is in DATA A mode.    I do 
run CAT control and not VOX for PTT.  Running the latest updated version 
of Windows 10 Pro, I find little to no delay in transmit start-up.

As to Apple users, our church installed an Apple  based video system.   
After many issues, failures and embarrassments, I told the pastor; "As I 
recall, Adam and Eve had an issue with an apple.  There is a bite out of 
the logo to prove it".   Perhaps there is a lesson to be learned.
