[Elecraft] Temperature or Warmth of KPA500 when "Off" ?

Check electrical codes.  I don't believe a power strip for 220 is legal under the electrical code.  Too much power.

Concur that you can build an on/off switch to control the outlet.

You could build a 220/240V outlet with a remote switch using a couple electrical boxes.
