Sounds like the seller was a sucker for aftermarket stuff. Elecraft 
products are well designed. The screws are all standard English units. 
Most of are 4-40, smaller ones are 2-56.

I've NEVER thrown away screws -- I probably have close to a thousand, 
sorted into plastic drawers by size. Ditto for lots of other mechanical 
and electronic parts.
