[Elecraft] K2 LCD and Backlight assembly problems

Same here. I am about 75% through a K2 build and faced the same question.
In my case the pins didn't quite make it to being flush with the bottom side
of the board. Rather than pressing on the LCD and taking the risk of
overstressing it, I flowed the solder from the bottom side and then checked
with a DVM for a good connection between the topside LCD pins and the
reverse side of the through-holes. All looked good, and the LCD works as it
should on every test so far.
This is my fourth K2. I did not have this problem with the previous builds,
probably because those had integrated spacers. The separate spacer and LED
pieces in the new kits may be higher by a fraction of a millimeter.

I resoldered the LED backlight devices by applying a small amount of
pressure and resoldering each pin to make sure they were flush. This made
the pins of the LCD flush with the PCB holes. I soldered it this way and it
has worked. The LCD is working fine for my K2.
