The Bose QC-35 gaming headset seems to be set for release on Oct 20.
This is also an option (for only $27):

I’m ordering one to test.

Bose makes a QC35 II gamer headset. It comes with a boom mic which plugs in in place of the cord. Bose usually sells these accessories separately.

Rich,
I use this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Z0EP3I/ which converts the mic to XLR and also boosts RFI resistance. For some this might be getting pricey for a headset and it's also possible that other solutions are now available (I got mine in Feb). But to me it offered the combination I wanted. The QC series Bose (any of them: 15, 25, 35) noise cancelling makes even extended operation such a pleasure, and with the Shure I can easily add a great mic.
With the QC-35 I don't think the internal mic is passed in the cord. At any rate I have not had a problem with it. The 15 and 25 do include it, but if there is a problem it could be easily corrected with an adapter. I have a 25 on one rig and did not need one.

Thanks, Ed,
It is helpful to have a recommendation with time under its belt. I browsed for this device. It seems to be terminated in TQG / TA4F connector... I suppose that there is an adapter for this. Do you then have a way to mute the Bose mic? I don't mind wires. I am not happy with BT connectivity in general.
