OpenSSL pretty much runs the entire secure Internet. Linux, Python, etc.
But those are exceptions. Many seemingly-useful open source projects just can’t be supported properly. There aren’t enough volunteer hours. They end up half-designed, half-implemented, orphaned when the developer moved on, or stranded without a needed redesign. This report is a good dive into that.
