[Elecraft] [OT] Broken boom mic attachment on a CM-500

The boom mic on my CM-500 is now flopping around held only by 
the signal wire.

Any ideas about how to reattach it?

What are the best replacement headsets these days. Someone said 
that the CM-500 has changed for the worse in the last few years.

Any other advice?
