[Elecraft] KPA1500 and Noise

I'm only using port 1.  I did find the ground in my circuit breaker box, 
well.. not loose really.. but got a couple of turns on it.. it actually made 
a 1 DB difference in the noise. May be on to something here.

Which of the amp's antenna outputs are you using?  When the KPA1500 is 
switched off the antenna is internally defaulted to connector number one. 
So if the noise is coming in via an antenna connected to number two, it 
should drop when power to the amp is turned off.

Recently I have noticed that I have a very high noise lever at my QTH, which 
I have never had.  Today as I was shutting down my station I turned off the
KPA1500 first, and my noise dropped from S7 to S1 instantly.

I turned the Amp back on and the noise came back.  Have any of you ever 
observed this?
