[Elecraft] K3 Setting Up digital modes on K3 KS3

Have decided to play with PSK and FT4 or FT8 (if I can figure what they are)
However, I am having trouble setting up all of the various Menu and Config
settings to accept the CAT input and the CW or PTT from either HRD or Mix W. 

I have got the rig to turn on when I start a transmission on MizW, BUT all I
hear is a whistle, single tone) on the monitor.
Can someone give me som starting settings to get this working.  A few years
ago it worked on PSK, however I must have made some incorrect settings when
I got a Heil Headset with mike. 

Original K3, then added the sub receiver so it is sort of a KS3
