[Elecraft] Possibly dumb question...

Don't hold me to this, but I believe there is a way to do it if you have Win4K3Suite.
Win4K3Suite can read the menu settings from a K3. Not the gain and compensation values, but the menu items we would typically like to have in more than one radio like RX EQ, TX EQ, AGC SLP, AGC THR etc.
Win4K3Suite allows you to save those settings to a file to be reloaded into the K3 later. Once you have saved the menu settings, I would think you could shut down Win4K3Suite, disconnect the USB cable from K3 number one and connect it to the second K3, bring Win4K3Suite back up and load that menu settings file to the second K3. Then save the configuration of the second K3.
I do have Win4K3Suite. I have not tried this. But it would be interesting to try.
I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will be able to shoot a hole in my theory.
Tom, the author of Win4K3Suite probably can give us the answer off the top of his head.

The config file includes compensation values for the devices in a specific radio. Loading it into a different radio would mean a serious realignment for that radio.

This is a huge hole in the Elecraft utilities. It should be possible to save, load, and share the menu settings. I’ve lost count of the times someone has asked how to reset the rig to defaults and I’ve had to say “Sorry, can’t do it.”

Even better, think about a checklist for which values you would save or load. Someone could share a file with TX EQ and compression settings, for example. Then separately, share AGC settings.

I believe one reason for this is the modular nature of Elecraft equipment, and attempting to load a config file that includes modules the target radio does not would probably lead to problems and lots of posts on this list. [:-) Dick, of Elecraft Utility fame may be able to expound more concisely on the subject.
