Dial was for receiver, transmitter rock bound until you added optional VFO.  Oh, girls did love VFOs. Especially those whose giga hertz 😊.

When I got my license in 1972 they had just authorized novices to use vfos....sure wish I had that Millen 90711 now !!!!
