[Elecraft] KPA500 external mains switch

If lightning is the item of concern, there's bigger fish to fry in that 
regard.  Lightning protection is an entire other story and a very 
specific approach to lightning mitigation.     I use the word 
"mitigation" to emphasize the point that all efforts for lightning 
protection is an effort to "minimize" the damage. Notice I didn't say 
eliminate the damage.   Won't happen.

I told a friend who had asked "how do I protect my equipment from 
lightning damage?".   My answer; "put it in the box, seal the box, place 
the box under the bed and hope that a lightning strike isn't the cause 
for the the house to burn down".    Come to think about it  " do houses 
burn up, or do they burn down?"  Guess it makes no difference.
