Really, it’s whatever the market will bear. If you follow eBay for certain items you will get an idea of what they are going for there.

There are many sites you can just put a price on it with your description and if no one buys at that price you are out nothing. I think QRZ will work that way.

Or so you can just put a minimum price on it on eBay and if no one comes up to that price it doesn’t sell. There are costs to doing this but it does work.

Also if you were keeping the items but want your relatives to have a better way of selling them when the time comes there are many companies that auction off ham radio equipment for a fee and they will buy the whole shack for one price or piece out things that are of higher value. Just start looking around. I know in some of the ham radio magazines there are estate sellers that advertise regularly and have a good reputation. There is one in Electric Radio Magazine that has been in business for many years. A query to them might even give you a good idea of a value since that is what they do.

In our area our local radio club (cherryland amateur radio club ) will sell items from an estate. We have a few gentlemen that do this and spend a lot of time researching the value of each item, and packaging and shipping it to the seller if necessary. We split it 50-50 with the heirs of the estate, usually the widow.
