Everyone so far has recommended a headset with “boom@ mic.
I wonder if you mean a mic on a table mounted “boom”?
From the options you describe, I think this might be the case.
I have a Heil PL-2T boom with a Heil SM-1 Shock mount with a Heil HM-12 mic. You’ll also need a cable (use Kenwood config) and some form of PTT if you don’t use VOX (an unused J-38 works well). This sounds good on with my K3S and K3.
