[Elecraft] XV Transverter: what can it do?

This is a stupid question, I am sure.
I have a loaded K2, and wanted to add more, so I’ve been trying to figure out what an XV Transverter (144) is for.    I have looked on Elecrafts site for a good description of what I can do with an XV Transverter, but have not found it.  I have looked for info in the List Archives, in YouTube, and the XV Transverter manuals.  Please respond with information on the use of these.  Santa might have to order me one, if I can figure out what I would do with it.
