Twinax under that name was a two conductor shielded coax like cable for balanced antennas. The R-389 for instance had a connector for that kind of cable.

But are you sure you are not thnking about the cable for Token-Ring networks? That was two pair for IBM networks of about 25 years ago. Stiff and ugly to work with.
