Unfortunate that happened.

This is the UPS I bought at Dayton, it is 
the USC-30001 3KVA version. Not exactly 
ancient but they do mention Windows XP in 
the documentation... After sitting two 
years the batteries still are at 12.3V so 
they seem good.
