Chuck and all,

Sorry if I confused you.  It is the firmware level, not the upgrades or 
the board level.
Firmware 2.01 and above must do CAL PLL on 40 meters.  That calibrates 
it for all bands.

The early manuals tell you to do CAL PLL on each band, but if the 
firmware has been updated, the instructions for the updated firmware can 
supersede the earlier instructions in the manual.
