Hi Bill,
Thanks for the reply.
I'm using Windows 10 Pro, Windows Defender.
I thought that you had nailed it. I checked the Allowed Apps in Windows
Defender and the KPA-1500 Utility wasn't listed. I added it and
restarted the computer, no help. Shouldn't I hear a notification sound
when I plug/unplug the KPA-1500 USB cable. I do when I unplug/plug the
keyboard.
Thanks again, Ed

>> I’d suggest using the Windows Device Manager to view COM ports, see what COMn gets added when you unplug and plug in the USB cable from the amp. If none change, it might be a device driver needed. Usually Windows finds this driver automatically if needed, but sometimes you need to reinstall the driver. There is a link to the FTDI driver website on the page for KPA1500 Utility. There may be advice in the KPA1500 utility help text under troubleshooting.

I do not get a notification sound from the computer when I plug the USB cable into the computer. I've reset the KPA-1500, tried different USB ports, no success. Any suggestions appreciated.
