Thanks Dick,

That's the first thing I did Dick but nothing on the Windows Device
Manager changes and there is no notification sound that you usually get
when unplugging/plugging a device into a USB port. I wonder if the USB
port in the KPA-1500 is dead.

I reinstalled the FTDI driver, no help.

I uninstalled/reinstalled the KPA-1500 Utility, no help.

The KPA-1500 Manual under Troubleshooting suggests the Windows Device
Manager, unplugging/plugging the USB cable method to locate the proper
com port.

I've run out of talent...hi!  I'll send a note to Elecraft Support.

Thanks for the note, Ed

Usually Windows finds this driver automatically if needed, but sometimes you need to reinstall the driver. There is a link to the FTDI driver website on the page for KPA1500 Utility. There may be advice in the KPA1500 utility help text under troubleshooting.

I do not get a notification sound from the computer when I plug the USB cable into the computer. I've reset the KPA-1500, tried different USB ports, no success. Any suggestions appreciated.
