Maybe … there are a lot of YouTube videos that show this type of bag being totally destroyed by the contained batteries, flames shooting out in spectacular fashion, etc.

One guy in a video went so far as to build a “containment vessel” of concrete blocks and cement board for a lid.  IMHO, if you have to go to these extremes to safely charge a battery, you have to question whether you really want to use those batteries :-)
