Don,

The P3 needs an IF signal and there is none in the KX3.
The KX3 has the RX I/Q outputs which you can connect to a computer 
soundcard, or to the PX3.
The display for the PX3 is the same size as the P3 (it uses the same 
display) and will accept a keyboard input as well.
