Again, that makes no sense. OM Power  supports ELECRAFT directly and provide a pair of serial ports for doing so. No Y cable is necessary (and a bad idea). 

This is how OM Power describes using their product. It works fine. You're coming up with a workaround for a nonexistent problem.
