Fred Cady's excellent K3 Manual, 3rd edition, spells it out in detail in Table 7-3.


"The firmware prevents you from making these choices.
The hardware cannot handle a 30 dB preamplification."

I likewise read all info in the K3s manual. Your interpretation is one that could be true but it isn't spelled out.
