Hi Andy,

several replies giving you an ideas over here.
Refer to Jim, K9YC...it is short and clear.

I am recommending you to simply stay calm.
Turn your radio ON, sit and play...
Use it daily in different situation for few months
then you will be more familiar with radio and
all functions behavior and you will have better idea
what you really need.
