That's correct ... as documented on page 19 of the K3S Owner's Manual:
"To connect a P3 Panadapter to the K3S, and optionally connect a
computer to the P3 (via RS232)".

The microHAM interface is equivalent to a computer RS-232 port when it
comes to connecting to a K3/K3S.
