[Elecraft] What caused long reposts

I notice that sometimes when someone replies to a question on what appears to be the digest form of the list,  the entire digest gets reposted. 

I read my digest list with my iPhone and when that happens the digest gets extremely long. 

How can I guard against this if I reply to a digest message. I don't want to inflict the long posts on others.
