Fred,

Seems like I recently saw a lightning T-splitter 
which might work announced (related to the new 
iPhone with no headphone jack), by Belkin I 
believe. I wonder if that might be a solution to 
charging in such a situation.

OTOH -- my iPad Mini battery seems to last a very 
long time.
