In the US, the indicator "/MM", while not compliant with the rules [UK
owns all the M's, including the MM's] is taken to mean Maritime Mobile
also.  It is also taken to me afloat in International waters.

Our rules are pretty much out of date.  Except for a US ham operating 
reciprocally in Canada, the convention is to precede your call sign with 
the primary prefix of the country you're in separated from the call with 
a slash.  Well ... except in the UK, where the primary prefix is G with 
several other letters such as GW for Wales, but the CEPT rules say 
prefix with M.

I wonder how Pete got the Lao/Thai characters into an email?
