[Elecraft] K3 mod for K-Pod level of difficulty

Apologize if this question has already been asked/answered.

I have K3s #106xx, so I need the mod.

Is there any downside to making the mod (other than risk).  I mean, is
there any chance of it affecting TX/RX quality, et al?
Assuming not; just checking...
