[Elecraft] Remove metal hanger from MH3 microphone?

Just remove the one screw holding it. The screw goes into threaded bushing
on the back cover that stays in place.

Can the piece of metal on the MH3 be removed by taking the microphone apart?
I doubt that I'll ever use it and the chances of it scratching my radio
faceplate are very high.
