[Elecraft] [KX3] KX2 - KX3

Hi Ruchan,

I'm inherently biased, of course, but here's my personal reasoning: I wanted an all-band/multi-mode radio the size of an HT that put out 10 watts from internal battery and could be taken virtually anywhere. The KX2 is that rig. I can pack my entire station--including the KX2, mini-mic, adapters, paddle, log sheet, a whip and two lengths of antenna wire--into our CS40 padded bag. Everything weighs just under 2 pounds.

I've been anxious to build something like this ever since my Elmer told me about working VK from CA using an 11-meter walkie-talkie during the 1957 sunspot peak. This was in the 1970s when, as a teen, I first started building my own gear. But I couldn't even have imagined the construction techniques our engineering staff would employ to get the KX2 packed into half the space of the KX3.
