Re:  Can anybody tell me why I should buy also a KX2?
I am considering buying a KX2, and using my KX3 as my dedicated home station. That would eliminate the need to constantly pug and unplug cables when I go into the field.  I have been operating my KX3 in the field with the IF shift engaged (which also bypasses the roofing filters) to simulate the KX2 receiver (I think), and it works great.
Now, to find the money ;-)
