You can configure the K3 to provide frequency information on its serial port as you QSY.   It's a configuration menu setting  "auto info".

Even with a Y cable from SteppIR the controller only listens to the signals.  It does not ask for anything.  So you have to have something that is sending out polling data regularly, which is why you need the computer.

Alternatively if you us a Microham controller there is a good chance you can buy their Ilink  cable and hook it into the SteppIR and you are set.  The Microham will also defeat you Xmitting while the antenna is moving.
