[Elecraft] KX-1 Sidetone Needs Help.

I've noticed that, in my and other KX-1s, the sidetone sounds distorted.  I
am looking for methods of cleaning up the sidetone so that it will be
easier for me to get on the same frequency as the other station by matching
my sidetone (600Hz) to that of the incoming signal.

Looking at the KX-1 schematic, it may be possible to add some R or C,
between the junctions of R12 and R13 and the input to C2, to roll off the
harmonics in the sidetone.

Has anyone 'been there; done that'?
