I wouldn't say this. First, the performance improvements are small, 
especially if you already have the new synth. Second, most of the new 
parts can be purchased as upgrades to the K3.

True, the resale value of a K3 has gone down, but if it's a 'retirement 
rig' then that doesn't matter.
