Sorry Dick, I was asking the OP how he had his KX3 and KAT500 connected, I had not read the subject line where he mentioned the KXPA100 and PX3 as well, so I couldn't understand why he anything connected to ACC1 on the KX3.
The diagram you link to certainly explains clearly that in that configuration you can plug a PC into the KXPA100 PC RS232 connector which will be available.
