Or the newer card costs them about the same as the older model; (and) or they'll eat the price difference. 

Nice thing about Elecraft is that you can do the updates/upgrades yourself, even piecemeal as a budget allows.  Mine is almost never turned off; dust is another matter. ;-). I'll give it an internal dusting when I do the upgrade.
