Hi Joe,
Great minds and all that :) I did find a way to alter the .5-2.0 MHz filter so that it extends coverage down to 100 kHz at low loss. Very simple mod, which I will explain to those who volunteered, hopefully tomorrow.
This will be a receive-only range for the K3, even with the mods.
